Essay Writing for IELTS task 2

In some cities and towns all over the world, the high volume of traffic is a problem. What are the causes of this? What solutions do you suggest?

The raised in the traffic flow has been creating difficulties in urban areas and towns all around the continents day by day. The two main reasons for this issue are the infrastructure and unavailability of mass transport system.

Firstly, the main reason behind the traffic flow is the unplanned infrastructure generally in the populous cities. The insufficient housing facilities provided by the government, the unauthorized residents settled in cities and towns their daily commuting results in the traffic congestion as the city planners did not predicted this massive population.

However, this problem can be resolved, if the government established the budget to construct the interchanges, expressways and highways to divert the traffic flow. The redesigning of individual town within the city like Bahria Town, not only provide the housing facility but also provide the workplace.

Secondly, the unavailability of the mass transit system in the cities results in the increased of private transport like cars. The survey published in the journal indicates that over the 180,000 cars were sold in the fiscal year 2016–17, rising to 206,777 unit’s fiscal year 2017–18.

To tackle this, issue the government should take steps to provide an alternative mode of transport. Therefore, they encourage people to use it by providing them discounted traveling package and loyalty points programs. The increased in the car taxes would also be another step towards declining the purchasing power of the consumers. The intercity metro bus stations also help in controlling the traffic. The proper road surface marking not only highlighted the parking spaces or designate areas for vehicles but allow the user to identify their particular lanes

To be concluded, a rapid increase in the traffic volume all over the world would be minimized if the government take the issue seriously and work to provide an alternative commuting facilities to the citizens and encourage them to use it and develop new towns to shift the thick dense city population towards the new areas.
