 IELTS PREPARATION PLANNER

The 1st step is to register for the IELTS exam.

When you have booked for the exam day then you schedule your preparation according to the test date. The exam results totally depend on your practice. The more you do practice the more you will be familiar with the format of the test. The more you feel confident on the exam day and it will really help you to calm and cool and increase your productivity level on exam day.

Practice according to the type of test. If you have enrolled yourself for the Computer Based Test so from the day first start your preparation on the Computer as this set required, your words per minute speed especially in writing tests.

The 2nd step is to Set your score goal

It depends on your requirement.

There are the steps you must know before the exam enrollment

-Increase your level of English

There are two ways to accomplish your goal it depends totally on your learning abilities and style. It also depends on the time slot you have so you scheduled your learning according to your need.

English Classes

If you unable to determine your English level so you must attempt a test from Berlitz. The cost is less as compared to give whole course money to the institutes where you won’t be able to analyze your level as they treat all the students equally and do not have enough time for you because they want to earn more money.

The Berlitz will hire a teacher for you and he/she analyze your level to appear for the IELTS level afterward you start preparation. You also install the British Council application on your cellphone and take the test in the end of the test the result showed your level. I performed a test on the app and it exactly shows me my level. But I do some blunders in the Writing test and do not focus and devote time for Reading as I consider it reading he tu hai. But in IELTS there are certain strategies in Reading aur yeah Sirf reading he tu nahin hai.

Online IELTS Preparation

There are several options available nowadays online learning help you a lot if you do not want to sit in the traffic congestion in the Karachi city. Due to Covid, many institutes are following SOPs but when you commute it increases your overall expenses so it's better to enroll yourself for an online course as the courses are designed will surely help you to grasp points required to get your targeted bands and they are far more economical and designed in the pattern that you covered all the question types in a step by step manners without wasting your time and money.

Institutes Preparation

If you feel confident to learn with the group so join the institute. It also depends on your Budget too. AEO and Berlitz are doing a great job. Now AEO Gulshan branch has been opened so North Nazimabad residents can join there. Many teachers are teaching at their home. I prefer to do preparation by Certified Trainer as they won’t waste your money and time unless to inspire by youtube or billboard advertising.

In Pakistan, it is the norm and culture of our society that we hate to be punctual and never respect other persons’ time. Beware that it happens with everyone. Don’t be frustrated.

Practice using English every day.

Speak: Speak English with your friends and family and try to find out the native speaker.

The Cambly application is expensive but you find a native speaker it really helps you to understand the questions and respond spontaneously the more you practice the more you will be fluent. You easily download it from Play store.

If you are lucky enough to an acquired job in a multinational company so you don’t have to bother and spare more time for speaking and you are able to focus on other skills. But unfortunately, I was not working in the Multinational Company so I focused more on Speaking. I started recording my voice and setup time. I used a stopwatch that was already installed in the mobile phone.

Speaking is all about the two-way conversation. In the real exam you don’t have enough time it’s hardly 10 minutes so you must find out a speaking partner on daily basis.

Listen: Listen to English language radio, television and film. You should try to listen to a variety of English accents including American, Australian, British, Canadian and New Zeal and.

Listening to news on BBC really helps me. I usually listen podcasts and stories that really helps me to increase vocabulary too.

Read: Read English publications such as newspapers and magazines regularly. Practice real reading test from Cambridge books and attempt 2 test daily.

Write: Write letters, emails, or notes in English whenever possible. Try to adopt the strategies and familiar with the format used to acquired good band and read level 8 or 9 essays and letters.

The Day before the test:
